So you want to become an Instagram Influencer? Read this blog, and you will get tips on how to be one. (This is Part 2 wherein you will learn many things about becoming an effective influencer, and Part 1 is a must-read, as well.)
Choose The Right Hashtags
Hashtags are necessary so that other users can find your posts. You can use a maximum of 30 hashtags in one photo, and it would be good to use them all.
When using a hashtag, using the ones with a lot of search volumes can backfire on you as this means you have lots of competition in that tag, which makes your post gets buried underneath them all.
Choose the one with moderate search volumes instead so that you can find the balance between appearing on top and being discovered. Combine using tags with high search volumes and low search volumes.
Get A Business Account
You must be serious as an Instagram influencer by making a business account. A business account will help you see your insights. Insights help you see what the demographics of your followers are and which of your posts got the higher engagements as well as the dates and times wherein you have the best engagements.
Knowing the demographics of your followers comes handy if you’re going to pitch to brands to collaborate with you. These brands speak in numbers and will look at your numbers than your photos. A business account can also give you the chance to run ads, which you can use to promote your posts to get more engagement.
Leverage Instagram Stories
Lots of people also use Instagram stories now so make sure to use this. Over 200 million Instagram users use this, and this is the perfect tool to get more followers and visibility.
Non-followers can also discover you through stories so make sure to add hashtags and locations in your stories too. Use the swipe up an option to put an outbound link on stories too if you have more than 10,000 followers.
You can also give shout-outs to others using Stories, and this is good in building your relationship with your followers and gain more followers. These accounts are also more likely to do it too, which can give you more visibility.
Use social media wisely by learning how to engage. Engagement is one of the essential tools influencers should know how to use. Make sure to reply to your comments and like and comment on other people’s content too.
Increase your engagement with this checklist:
- Write a call-to-action in your caption
- Post during when engagement is high
- Host giveaways and contests
- Use polls in Stories
- Similar accounts and engage
The Explore option can be used to see the content you can engage with. You can now also the hashtags of the content that appears in your feed.
Tag Relevant Brands and Contact Them
To become an Instagram influencer, you must go under two stages. The first is organically gaining followers and engage with them and the second is to earn money.
If you already have the right amount of followers and engagement, it’s time to go to step two by tagging brands in your pictures so that you’ll appear on their radar. They might even feature your photos.
You can also message brands related to your niche directly especially if they have already collaborated with other influencers. Have a pitch that would explain why you’re reaching out and what you can do for them.
Do Not Buy Followers
This is a mistake most beginners make to get easy success. Paid followers aren’t organic and don’t give you natural engagement.
Being an influencer isn’t easy, but there’s no shortcut to being successful. You might have a lot of followers, but then you’ll end up with low engagement, which will then affect your engagement rate and chances of collaborating with brands.
Being an influencer takes time and patience. Sometimes it even takes months, but it’s worth the results in the end. Some people get brand collaborations in a few months after following this so you can do this too.
